Palm Beach International Raceway joined up with Harley Davidson of Palm Beach as presenting sponsor for a serious show of force at the Bike Bash with top fuel drag bikes running the quarter mile at speeds of over 200 miles per hour.
“Harley Davidson of Palm Beach is proud to partner with our very own Palm Beach International Raceway for the 2012 Bike Bash,” says Kathleen Simone, Harley Davidson Marketing Director. “Being intimately involved in the AHDRA drag racing family, Mike Lehman, top fuel drag racer and owner of Harley Davidson of Palm Beach was thrilled to bring a motorcycle event of this magnitude to our area.”
Harley Davidson of Palm Beach owner, Mike Lehman, brought out his own top fuel Harley Davidson, which ran at a smoking 220 miles per hour. “PBIR is a world class racing facility and to have this venue and event in our own back yard is an opportunity not to be missed, we look forward to growing the event for 2013 and years to come.”
In addition to the racing action, Bikers enjoyed live music from the Piro Band, Bikini Contest with the PBIR Babes and Tattoo Contest presented by Ink Link.
Bikers not only came together for racing, but also to benefit a great cause in their community. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Palm Beach and Martin Counties hosted their Second Annual Poker Run, whereby the proceeds will be donated to the family of fallen Jupiter Police Officer Bruce St. Laurent. St. Laurent had been an avid volunteer of the organization helping to deliver school supplies to underprivileged students only the week prior to his death. There was no hesitation from the non-profit organization to give their proceeds to the family of a service officer who was an integral force in the organization and the biker community.
The Poker Run kicked off at Harley Davidson of Palm Beach and Harry and the Natives finishing at Palm Beach International Raceway's Bike Bash. This year there were one hundred participants who made the ride for the cause.
Palm Beach International Raceway will be hosting its next Bike Bash in 2013. For event calendar and updates please go to www.RACEPBIR.com.
