Drag racing fans and Chevrolet enthusiasts will fill the grandstands to watch the bracket racing action, from the DriveDuracell.com Bracket 1 race to the Camaroguys.com Gen. 5 Challenge at the first Super Chevy Show of 2013. Chevy car show enthusiasts can check out the judged and non-judged car show entries, while the autocross participants compete and test their agility against the clock and cones for their personal best of the course.
PBIR has added the Super Chevy Magazine Triathlon to the weekend’s racing action. Camaro and Corvette fans will participate in a three part challenge including: speed braking, autocross and drag racing.
Participants and fans can shop the manufacturers midway for new aftermarket performance parts of the swap meet for those hard-to-find restoration treasures. Kids are encouraged to join in the fun with the popular Revell Make ‘N Take model building program in the Car Show Awards Tent each day.
All 5th Generation Camaros are welcome to join in the drag racing fun and participate in the CamaroGuys.com Gen. 5 Challenge, trophy class on Saturday. While all car show participants are encouraged to test their skill and agility on the autocross course that’s included in the two-day car show entry fee.
Throughout the weekend fans can enjoy a steady clamor from the roar of race cars and jet engines and Pro Wheelstanders light up the night racing down the drag strip. The PBIR Super Chevy Show Pro Show features the SDI Motorsports’ Heat Wave Jet Car driven by Same Ives, the popular Super Winch Wheelstander, driven by Danny O’Day and Chevy Rebellion, driven by Richard Hutchins.
“We are proud that Palm Beach International Raceway is hosting the season opener of the Super Chevy Show again for the third year in a row in 2013, making South Florida the premier early-spring destination for the Chevy-powered or Chevy-bodied activities,” noted Jason Rittenberry, President & CEO of Palm Beach International Raceway.
