ESSA TAKES FIRST PLACE IN ROUND 3 OF FORMULA DRIFT

Saturday, June 1, 2013
(June 1, 2013) For the third year in a row, Palm Beach International Raceway hosted Round 3: Invasion of the national drifting series, Formula DRIFT. Seeing a consistent increase in attendance each year, Palm Beach International Raceway decided to bring in six additional grandstands to the road course to accommodate the growing number of drifting and motorsport fans in South Florida. Over the two day competition, PBIR hosted thousands of fans at the venue to witness drivers drift at speeds over 100 mph on a modified track layout on the road course. The main competition kicked off with the Round of 32 drifters competing eliminating competitors until it came down to the final four late on Saturday night. Michael Essa clenched first place in Round 3 of the drifting competition, with Daigo Saito in second and Robbie Nishida in third.
