NHRA Teams Testing at Palm Beach International Raceway

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

nhra_storyJupiter, Fla.  – As the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing season is quickly approaching, many teams have set up at Palm Beach International Raceway to begin testing for the upcoming season.

The Al-Anabi Racing team is renting PBIR for the week (Jan. 11-15) for

a private test and has invited 12 other cars to participate, including the nitro cars of Don Schumacher Racing, Morgan Lucas Racing, Kalitta Racing and the Funny Car of Bob Tasca.

Although temperatures are cold for south Florida this time of year, the temperature is expected to rise and create great conditions for the NHRA teams to gather the data needed and to work out the off season bugs in order to be ready for the season, which kicks off February 11.

“We’re really excited to host the NHRA teams at Palm Beach International Raceway for their first preseason test,” Jason Rittenberry, president and CEO of PBIR said. “The weather is warming up and the forecast is looking good through the end of the week. The teams should be able to get all of their data needed and make some good runs here at PBIR.”

The test at Palm Beach International Raceway is closed to all media members and to the public.
