Many know Brian Johnson for his talents on the stage as lead singer of AC/DC. However, Johnson also has a passion for race cars and helping others. Palm Beach International Raceway has put together a program this weekend for the Palm Beach Grand Prix that includes both race cars and helping others.
For a minimum donation of $50 this weekend, you can take a ride around Palm Beach International Raceway’s two-mile, 11-turn road course in a sports car and all proceeds will be donated to the Brian Johnson Music Therapy Room in the Pediatric Department at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
“As a celebrity and artist, he has a huge heart especially for children,” noted Alexandra Quarles, President, CEO & Trustee, Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation, Inc. “He is warm, gracious, caring and so very supportive of what we are doing here and he's just such a good guy!”
Rides begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. Also stop by the PBIR drag strip for a ride in the Driven-2-Win two-seat dragster with a portion of those proceeds going to the Brian Johnson Music Therapy Room as well.
A variety of newly added spectator viewing areas will be available around the road course for the Palm Beach Grand Prix. Spectator full event admission is $45. Friday only admission is $15 Saturday only admission is $25 and Sunday only admission is $25. Juniors 12 years old and under are free. When you buy tickets online at www.racepbir.com you will receive $5 off.
