Palm Beach International Raceway recently played host to the popular grassroots style drag racing show “PINKS All Out†featured on the SPEED Channel. The show is now in its fourth season and will visit 12 other tracks this year.
PBIR was chosen as the first venue on the 13-event season, the show visits some of the largest and most prestigious venues in the country, including Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill. and zMAX Dragway in Charlotte, N.C. The show was at the track in 2007, before the facility underwent renovations.
“It was really exciting to be the first track the PINKS All Out crew visited this year,†said Jason Rittenberry, president and CEO of Palm Beach International Raceway. “I think we kicked off their season the right way. We had a great group of cars out here and the final 16 definitely provided a great show.â€
Drag racers started filling Palm Beach International Raceway on Thursday (March 4) and continued to come in all weekend. By the time all of the test and tune sessions were complete, more than 350 cars made passes down PBIR’s all-concrete quarter mile drag strip.
Out of more than 350 cars, the PINKS All Out crew chose a group of 16 cars to battle it out under the lights Saturday evening (March 6). The concept is to run the car “all out†for a chance to win $10,000.
The SPEED channel crew captured every intense moment of the racing and the hour-long program taped at Palm Beach International Raceway is expected to premiere in July of 2010. |
