JUPITER, FL – April 15, 2011 – Fans watched some of the quickest eighth-mile drag racing on Friday during the two-day ADRL event at Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR).  As the second stop on the 2011 ADRL Tour, Palm Beach International Raceway welcomed many new and regular spectators to the drag strip to witness the powerful 3,000 horsepower race cars.

It was an impressive crowd at PBIR as spectators watched the more than 100 race cars in six drag racing classes power down the track in amazing fashion.  Three rounds of qualifying provided hours of entertainment to the packed stands at the Florida track.

“As a first-time event at Palm Beach International Raceway, we were pleased with today’s racing and fan activity,” said Jason Rittenberry, President and CEO, Palm Beach International Raceway.  “We welcomed new fans to our facility and hoped they enjoyed the eighth-mile drag racing show.  We expect a great crowd on Saturday and looking forward to the heightened level of competition and excitement that race day brings to PBIR.”

In addition to the side-by-side drag racing, fans were treated to special exhibition runs from the Police Interceptor and Embry-Riddle Jet Cars and Summit Motorsports “Bigfoot” Monster Truck.

The ADRL Safety-Kleen Drags II at Palm Beach International Raceway continues on Saturday April 16.  Gates open at 9am.  Sunday’s event schedule includes the fourth and final qualifying session, pre-race ceremonies, final eliminations and Jet Car and Monster Truck exhibition runs.
