JUPITER, FL – June 30, 2011 – No motor? No problem. For two Tuesdays in July, race cars will not be permitted on the road course at Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR). Instead, the two-mile road course is open and available to non-motorized modes of transportation as the south Florida track hosts Two Wheel Tuesdays.
A different style of performance, power and speed will be the featured activity on July 12 and July 26 as PBIR implements the motor-less events. Bicycles, running shoes and rollerblades will be the only modes of transportation allowed on the two-mile, 11-turn track.
“Two Wheel Tuesdays is a new program that we wanted to try this summer,” said Jason Rittenberry, President and CEO, Palm Beach International Raceway. “The road course at PBIR provides a safe alternative for active individuals. This is a great family activity and we look forward to having cyclists and runners on the road course. If we receive positive feedback from the attendees, we might continue Two Wheel Tuesdays for the rest of the year.
Two Wheel Tuesdays are scheduled for July 12 and 26. Admission to Two Wheel Tuesdays is $5 per entry. Gates open at 6pm and will close at 10pm.
