JUPITER, Fla. Â - - The open-wheel standout, Jay Howard is amongst the well-known drivers competing in the Fourth Annual PRI CKI Karting International All Star Classic on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009 at the Performance Racing Industry Tradeshow in Orlando, Fla.
One of the most unique races anywhere, the PRI CKI All-Star Karting Classic features great drivers from a diverse array of professional racing series, including NASCAR, NHRA, IRL, ALMS, Grand-Am and ARCA.
Howard won last year’s race, driving for the Screaming Talent team and Palm Beach International Raceway in the All-Star Division race beating Grand-Am driver Joey Hand, current NASCAR Sprint Cup competitor Scott Speed and other drivers such as: Dan Wheldon, Buddy Rice, Marco Andretti, Ron Capps, Jamie McMurray, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Will Power, Anton Brown, Cristiano Da Matta, AJ Allmendinger, Vitor Meira, Michael Valiente and Ed Carpenter.
The race takes place on a tight six-turn track adjacent to the Orange County Convention Center and drivers competing this year in the Pro Division include: Graham Rahal, Buddy Rice, Jamie McMurray, Ron Capps and Memo Gidley.
“I am real excited about this year’s race,†stated Howard. “The competition last year was tough, but it made for a real exciting race. All the drivers in different series come together, so you race against guys that you typically don’t compete against in the season.â€
Driving for the Screaming Talent team in the Karters Division, Spencer Pigot looks to another podium finish in this year’s race. As the youngest driver competing last year, Spencer was the second highest finisher in the feature race and turned the fastest lap in his class. |
