Kyle Petty is seen testing on Sunday, November 23, at the new Palm Beach International Raceway (formerly Moroso Motorsports Park).  Kyle, son of NASCAR legend Richard Petty, was preparing for the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, January 24-25, 2009. After spending more than 20 years competing at the highest level of stock car racing, Petty is preparing to run at the highest level of sports car racing.

Orbit Racing is a local racing team (Riviera Beach) and has a history of competing in the most acclaimed sports car races in the world, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France.  Orbit will prepare the BMW-powered Riley MK XI Daytona Prototype for Petty and British star Darren Manning.  Manning is a regular in the Indianapolis 500 and raced in 2008 with AJ Foyt’s team.  Both he and ALMS race driver Scott Sharp will be in attendance on Sunday during testing at Palm Beach International Raceway.

To prepare the drivers, team, and equipment for the grueling Rolex 24-hour Daytona race, all had a great day of testing at the new track. 

Palm Beach International Raceway is an all-new facility that intends to cater to all forms of professional motors sports as well as to the fans that come out to enjoy the action. Recently completed, the 2.034-mile 11-turn road course has been constructed to meet the latest FIA specifications and will soon receive International Grade II certification,
allowing access to IRL, Indy Lights, Grand Am, and all major motor sports series.
