Since it opened in 1964, PBIR has hosted championship road races, South Florida’s most prestigious drag racing events and some of the largest acts in music history. It has served as a test facility for top IndyCar, sports car, and drag racing teams.
“Big Daddy” Don Garlits, the most legendary name in drag racing, is serving as grand marshal for this special event. The 17-time World Champion will have his world-record-setting electric dragster Swamp Rat 38 on display.
Through donations, fans also have the chance to walk down the quarter-mile drag strip and talk with legendary racers like Darrell Gwynn, Joe Amato, Jerry Gwynn, Johnny Gray, and Garlits. The donations will support the Darrell Gwynn Quality of Life Chapter of The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis.
Stay to the end and watch the fire-breathing Larsen Jet Cars rocket down the track.
