Witness these awesome machines torpedo down the PBIR drag strip at incredible speeds as they finish up a day-long celebration of this iconic venue.  Two-time world champion Elaine Larsen will pilot theFlorida Tech House of Kolor Gen. 6 jet dragster and Zach Costello will race the Florida Tech Gen. 5 jet.

 

For Larsen, this ride is personal. She made her first-ever pass in a jet dragster at PBIR 20 years ago. In the two decades since, she’s risen to the top of her profession and even smoked legendary late-nighttalk show host Jay Leno in a special race of jet car versus his personal Corvette.

 

“This isn’t just a race track. This is home to me,” Larsen said. “This is where I made my first pass in a jet car. Coming up soon, this will be my last pass down this track. The last (jet car) race at Palm BeachInternational Raceway is going to be something you don’t want to miss. We are going to get this place fired up!”

 

Costello, an Illinois native, grew up a drag-racing fan. He has since traded his seat in the stands for one in the awesome Jet Car. He worked his way up the ranks, first serving as a crew member and later as crew chief for Elaine Larsen. Costello is in his third season as pilot of the Jet car after making his debut in 2020.
